President
David is the quintessential hospitality expert. He excels in delivering consistently exceptional catering experiences and has been doing so for over 30 years. David prides himself on “sweating the small stuff”. He is supported by a team of passionate professionals, who have been with him for many years and who also embrace genuine hospitality as their core value.
David enjoys an active life outside of work. A perfect day to relax includes an early morning work-out, a game of golf, followed by a barbeque at the pool sharing delicious food and wine with family and friends.
Film Operations Manager
Tom Lorusso has been working with David since 2012. Tom oversees every detail of film logistics, managing our fleet of food trucks and visiting every show to ensure that our standards are maintained and that every crew and cast member feels taken care of.
Tom is a dedicated family man and you’ll often find him hosting a backyard BBQ or at his cottage with friends and family.
Executive Chef
Elena oversees all the food for Film, Social and Corporate Catering. She has worked as a Chef for 15 years, and is one of Toronto’s best kept secrets. With a background of owning her own catering company, she tends to every event with humility, personal care and passionate dedication. Her food is elegant, dynamic and always delicious, as she loves exploring new techniques and recipes and has fun creating custom menus for all her events. Invested in every event, she is the first to call to ensure the event is going well and that the client is happy.
Elena is lovingly known as Mamma Bear to the DMC family and enjoys live music, film, cooking and spending time with her family and friends.
General Manager
Catherine Chalmers has been working in the food industry for over 20 years. She began her education at Trent University in Peterborough where she graduated with a B.A. in Psychology. After obtaining a job as a waitress & bartender at a fast paced restaurant, she decided the food industry was for her. Catherine attended George Brown College and graduated with a degree in Culinary Management. She started her culinary career at Catering by Davids’ and over the years has gained extensive experience in not only Film Crew Catering but Corporate & Event Catering as well.
Outside of work, Catherine enjoys spending time with her family, whether watching her son play baseball or attending her Daughter’s Highland Dance Competition. A great end to the day is unwinding with her husband, enjoying a nice glass of Chardonnay!
